Between March 14th and March 28th 2013, the Health Promotion Department will be conducting a Student Health and Wellness survey in an effort to better understand current and emerging health issues of Ryerson University (RU) students.  Student input is key to the successful design and implementation of health promotion initiatives on our campus and this data will inform all health promotion planning and direct health and wellness service delivery. Hearing from our student community will enable us to understand, first hand, the significant health priorities of this population and assist us to better tailor campus-wide health promotion efforts and health and wellness services.

The selected students will be asked to complete the National College Health Assessment (NCHA) online survey which examines students’ behaviors, perceptions, and habits about a variety of health and wellness topics. Topics addressed in the assessment include sexual health; nutrition, weight and physical activity; mental health; personal safety and violence; and, alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.

This survey has been reviewed and approved by the Ryerson Research Ethics Board.  If you have questions regarding your rights as a human subject and participant in this study, you may contact the Ryerson University Research Ethics Board for information.
