International Student Services
Esther Yip serves
as the International Event Facilitator. She is passionate about easing the transition
and integration of international students to the Ryerson Community and Canada.
She has focused on three specific areas of program development that include
an international volunteer expansion program, community outreach and building
connections between ISS and off-campus community groups, and partnership building
with on-campus departments. These programs advocate for and support international
students through monthly International Lunches and International Tea House.
Once an international student herself, Esther has had first-hand experience at being a newcomer to Canada. In addition, she also graduated from Ryerson with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health. Furthermore, she has worked and volunteered in the non-profit sectors for years that include supporting newcomers to Canada and coordinating volunteer programs to enhance their skills with Canadian work experience.
Benefiting from her previous education, work, and personal experience, Esther is eager to meet international students and further identify their unique needs in order to develop more new events and activities to support them such as ISS Tax Services and Volunteer Expansion Programs.
She believes through fun events and activities, International students can excel academically, and expand, and enhance their life experiences in Ryerson University and beyond.
