Foreign Student Visitors to Canada Plan
The Foreign Student Visitors to Canada plan provides up to $100,000 in quality insurance coverage for non-Canadian Students under the age of 49, while studying in Canada.

Eligibility:
- Students are required to have fulltime student status in an educational institution.
- Must be purchased prior to arrival in Canada or within the first 30 days of arrival in Canada. It is available for trips of up to 366 days in Canada.
- This plan may be subject to a 72 hour waiting period if purchased after arrival in Canada.

Silver Annual Long-Term International Student Insurance
This plan provides essential medical and health insurance for students from abroad studying full-time in Canada for only $450 a year. The Trent T-HIP plan provides 15 types of coverage while you are visiting Canada for business or pleasure. You can purchase this plan simply by answering some yes or no health questions - you can even get coverage for your current health conditions. Our premiums are among the lowest in Canada.
Eligibility:
- Must be under 65, in good health
- Not covered by a Canadian Provincial Government Health Insurance Plan
- A temporary resident of Canada on a student or work visa
- A returning Canadian

Provides up to $100,000 for standard-ward accommodation and all other hospital expenses when necessary. Semi-private or private room accommodation is covered when deemed medically necessary by the Attending Physician.
Provides up to $100,000 for the necessary services of a physician for a sickness or injury.
Provides for one physical examination every 12 months, provided your policy has been in effect for 6 months with no lapse in coverage.
Surgical & Anaesthetic Services
Provides up to $100,000 for surgical and anesthetic services performed by a physician, surgeon, or anesthetist as the result of sickness or injury.
Provides for the cost of a land or in-province air ambulance when medically necessary. A $45 deductible applies.
Diagnostic, X-rays, & Laboratory Services
Provides up to $100,000 for necessary X-rays and laboratory services ordered by a physician.
Provides 80% coverage of expenses for childbirth, pregnancy, miscarriage, or related complications. Available only when you have a family T-HIP policy with no lapse in coverage, and the pregnancy begins after you purchased your policy. Note: the newborn infant(s) is not covered under this policy, unless you apply for and receive written approval from Trent Health.
Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, Podiatrist & Osteopath
Provides up to $500 for the necessary services of a licensed chiropractor, physiotherapist, podiatrist, and osteopath.
Provides for one registered Optometrist examination every 24 months, provided your policy has been in effect for 6 months with no lapse in coverage.
Provides for Psychiatrist visits when referred by the attending physician, with a maximum of 1 hour a week, up to 10 visits every 12 months. Coverage begins once you have had your policy for 6 months with no lapse in coverage.
Provides for necessary dental procedures when performed in a hospital.
Emergency Return Home (for Temporary Residents)
Provides up to $25,000 to transport you to your original country of residence for immediate medical attention following a new sickness or injury. This benefit provides for one-way economy fare, accommodation for a stretcher, and a medical attendant.
Repatriation (for Temporary Residents)
Provides up to $3,000 to return you to your original country of residence by regular flight, if you become totally disabled as the result of a new sickness or injury requiring more than 48 hours of hospitalization. In the event of your death, this benefit provides up to $3,000 to return you to your original country of residence; or up to $1,500 toward the cost of your burial or cremation in Canada.
Provides up to $3,000 when you require medical services in a different Canadian Province from your principal residence. When you travel within Canada, hospital services are payable as described in the Hospital benefit above.
Automatic Extension of Coverage
Coverage under this policy is automatically extended for up to 72 hours for FREE if your trip is delayed for reasons beyond your control, such as sickness, injury, or carrier delay. You must provide acceptable proof supporting the cause for delay.

International Student Hospital/Medical Insurance
Maximum benefit $1,000,000.
International Student Travel and Medical Insurance covers injuries and sicknesses requirement emergency hospital confinement or emergency medical treatment for students of foreign nationality while enrolled in and attending a recognized institution of learning within Canada.
This travel insurance is subject to a maximum liability dollar amount for specific eligible medical expenses. International Visitors to Canada
Available to international visitors coming to Canada, such as such as full- time and part-time students, English second language students, trainees, members of delegations and technical missions and their dependants. Covered persons are entitled to hospital services, basic medical services and prescription drugs, needed to maintain their health while in Canada. The services do not include treatment for ailments from which the covered persons were suffering before they enrolled in the plan. Subject to the eligibility requirements, and restrictions and limitations as set out in the policy, the benefits offered under this program are:
