Tutoring

We offer free drop-in tutoring for students. Strategists for each Faculty are available to see students during drop in hours.

We also can connect you with the tutor registry where you can sign up as a tutor or a tutee for private fee based sessions.

Tutor Registry

Do you need help understanding course content/assignments or preparing for tests and exams? Do you have an area of expertise and the willingness to help out other students? The Learning Success Centre provides a tutor registry. The Tutor Registry system will match students that require a tutor with a list of students that are willing to tutor.

How It Works

When you sign up to be a tutor

1. Your name and course codes are entered into our database if you qualify to be tutor (see section below “The requirements to be listed as a tutor“ for details)
2. The system sends your name to students who need to be tutored in that course
3. Students may contact you

When you sign up to be tutored

1. Tutor Registry system checks the tutor registry for potential matches
2. The system emails you a list of names that match your preferences (if available)
3. You contact potential tutors

The requirements to be listed as a tutor are:

•  
  • Have a B+ or better in the course you want to tutor
  • have a cumulative GPA of above 2.33.
  • be a current Ryerson student (graduate or undergraduate)

    • Non-Ryerson students requiting a tutor: fill out the tutor registry form.
