ENDOWMENT GIFTS

Endowed gifts allow Ryerson donors to have a long-term impact on the university that will benefit students far into the future. When a donor endows a gift to the university—like a student award or an academic Chair— the principal cannot be touched and is invested for the long-term. The annual earnings from the endowed gift are distributed as designated by the donor.

There are different minimum funding levels for different types of endowments. For example:
    • $25,000 will establish an endowment for a named undergraduate award
    • $50,000 will establish an endowment for a named graduate award  
    • $2,000,000 will establish an endowment for a named Chair
