Is this graduate program available part-time?
No. Urban Development is only available as a full-time program.
Can your apply to both streams (1-year fast track; and 2-years stream)?
Yes. Indicate your choice (or both) on the program's 'Supplementary Admission Data' supporting document form.
Do I have to have a supervisor at the time of application to the program?
No. The selection and assignment of a Supervisor will be determined when the student is ready to begin research on the Major Research Paper (MRP).
Can I submit an application without a statistic course?
Yes. If you are offered admission into the program, you will need to complete a statistic course before commencing graduate studies. If you fail or cannot complete the statistic course, your offer of admission would be revoked.
Is the graduate program accredited by CIP or OPPI?
Yes, the MPl program is accredited by both the Canadian Institute of Planners, and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
Do I have to have a design background?
No.
I don’t know how to use the software programs. Will the program provide training?
You are not required to be adept in using a specific software package, but it is good to have a working knowledge of MSOffice, AutoCAD and Adobe packages.
Do we get paid for internships? Can we have international internships? Does the program set that up for us?
Internships are not paid positions. Agencies may decide to compensate on their own. We do offer placements, but students are free (are encouraged) to choose on their own.
When are applications due? I have missed the first consideration deadline. Does this mean I can’t apply?

If you have missed the first consideration date, we still welcome your application. However, first consideration for scholarships and awards etc. is given to those who apply on or before deadline.
Our Graduate Admissions Office continues to accept applications on a rolling basis until all available spaces have been filled.
