2013 Student Exchange
What better way to find out about city building than to live for awhile in another country? In the School of Urban and Regional Planning, you can spend a term on an academic exchange with other university planning programmes. Students from other schools also come to Ryerson to spend a term in our School. Formal exchange arrangements currently exist with several institutions including those mentioned below:
- Birmingham City University, Birmingham, England
- Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, England
- Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Australia
- University of South Australia, Adelaide, Australia
- Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia
- Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow, Scotland
These exchanges normally take place in the second term of second year. The details are discussed in meetings and announced periodically through the school year. Students must have a clear academic standing, with no unresolved Incompletes (INCs), in order to participate.
If you qualify for an academic exchange, your Ryerson tuition fees cover the costs of schooling at the host institution, and the work you do in these schools replaces the courses you would normally take during the term at Ryerson. You are responsible for covering your own travel and accommodation costs. In most cases arrangements can be made to secure accommodation through the host institution. Speak to Professor Mitchell Kosny for more details about exchanges.
Current students can consult the current International Student Exchange Booklet [PDF] for policies and procedures.
Other forms of international opportunities are arranged for students whenever possible. Notices will be posted.
