Dr. Begley is an assistant professor at Ryerson University. She received her doctorate in public policy from NYU Wagner, where she focused on urban and housing policy and was a doctoral fellow at the Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy. Her dissertation explored how the housing boom and bust affected intergenerational transfers of wealth.
Prior to Ryerson, Dr. Begley spent a year at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and a summer as a graduate researcher at the University of Hong Kong. She also received a master's degree in city planning from UC Berkeley, where she worked at the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics.
Before graduate school, Dr. Begley worked as a commercial real estate acquisitions analyst for the real estate investment groups of Jones Lang LaSalle and RREEF/ Deutsche Bank. She also spent time at a nonprofit working on community development projects. She received her undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Begley is currently a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and an affiliated researcher at the NYU Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy.
