Teaching@Ryerson
Communications and Memos
Dear Administrative/Departmental Assistant,
Please note that Mode II Individual Teaching Workload Statement form has been revised and is now available for download on teaching@ryerson website at the following URL: http://ryerson.ca/teaching/forms/chairs_faculty/index.html#workload (Section 17. Workload Instructions + Forms)
Before you complete and submit the form, we would like to ask you to take a careful look at the following important changes made to the form:
1. At the very top of the form, we no longer require “Teaching ID”. Instead, “Employee ID” is required for each individual.
2. The whole new section with SPRING/SUMMER semester data has been added to the form. Please scroll from left to right to see all 3 semesters. Note the check box “Normal teaching term” added to each semester’s title. Normally, an RFA member teaches 2 terms during an academic year. Please indicate which the normal teaching terms are by clicking on those check boxes.
As well, please note that the teaching assignment information regarding the Spring/Summer semester will refer back to the prior Spring/Summer semester not the upcoming Spring/Summer semester, as the course and enrollment information for the upcoming semester will not be finalized by the form submission deadline of March 31. That is, the form will report teaching in Fall 2012, Winter 2013 and Spring/Summer 2012.
3. The teaching workload is now broken down into 3 sections:
- Regular teaching workload
- CE teaching workload
- Day overload teaching
Note that we now require more detailed data about CE courses and day overload teaching for each semester, such as course number, section code, registered students, etc.
4. Dean’s signature is now required on the form together with the signature of Chair/Director.
If you have any questions regarding the new form please send them to vpfa@ryerson.ca. If you think you will require an information session please let us know as well, we will schedule one depending upon need.
Thank you,
Office of the Vice Provost, Faculty Affairs
