The Power of the Diaspora Networks

Ted Rogers School of Management Business Conference

“The Power of the Diaspora Networks” conference will highlight the importance of Canadian diaspora networks in promoting trade and investment. Diasporas are increasingly recognized as a vehicle for economic growth and it is important for Canada to leverage its growing diversity to achieve prosperity at home and abroad.

The conference will bring together business, government and academic leaders from across Canada who are engaged in promoting economic development and prosperity.

This conference will take place in Toronto at the Ted Rogers School of Management where a high concentration of immigration has generated numerous ethno-cultural chambers of commerce and associations.

Presentations and discussions at the conference are focused on addressing a number of key issues, that are central to the future of promoting trade and investment including:

  • The shift of economic growth to emerging economies
  • The rise and influence of diaspora networks in Canada
  • The role of diaspora networks in international trade

While the conference is intended primarily for business, government and academic leaders, participation is also open to students, faculty and staff.
