Biography:

Bernard McEvoy

Professor, Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management

Bernie is a Chartered Professional Accountant by profession with a C.P.A., C.A. designation and has combined his teaching with more than thirty years in public accounting practice as a partner in a small public accounting firm.

He has spent more than thirty years in the field of computer simulations, specifically for the hospitality industry. Bernie is one of the founders and principal developers of PRO - the simulation for Profitable Restaurant Operations. He was instrumental in developing PRO Restaurant Simulation and the HOTS Hotel Simulation as major components in the final year of the University’s Bachelor of Commerce Program.

His current research interest is in the field of computer simulations for the restaurant sector and he is particularly interested in utilizing  “cloud” network systems as a simulation delivery vehicle.

He has made many presentations at industry conferences and co-authored several papers on the use of PRO and HOTS in the classroom.
