Hospitality and Tourism Management

Welcome to the Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management web site.

Born out of the Institution for Home Management in the academic year 1951/1952 the school was named the Hotel Resort and Restaurant Administration with 49 students and 8 faculty and staff.  Today as we celebrate sixty years The Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management continues to be a leader in innovative, career-oriented education and remains distinctly urban, culturally diverse and inclusive.  The school now has 675 full time students and receives in excess of 1300 applications yearly for 215 first year spots.  It is clearly evident that our academic program, reputation and Ryerson University itself is resonating with students.

We celebrated this milestone with a reception on April 4, 2012.  Each decade was highlighted with memorabilia, pictures, faculty and alumni.  For more information please check out our 60th Anniversary website.
