About the Program

The International Consortium of Event Management Certificate Programs offers George Washington University's curriculum globally. Ryerson University is the Canadian satellite and is proud to have been selected as one of thirteen universities worldwide offering the world's only standardized and comprehensive program in higher education leading to industry certification in special events.

Whether you are seeking a solid foundation in the event management discipline or specialized event management skills, you'll find what you need in the Ryerson University / The George Washington University's Event Management Program. The program's four core courses provide a comprehensive education in the essentials of event management. In addition to the core courses, the program offers a variety of electives, allowing you to specialize in specific areas of interest. Each course is delivered in a hands-on workshop environment providing you with a dynamic learning experience. Most importantly, the program ensures that you are prepared for the changes occurring within this complex and competitive industry.

Those whose professional responsibilities include occasionally or regularly coordinating events. Program Requirements

Successful completion of four core courses and three electives.

Complete a minimum of 100 hours of practicum experience with one or more Event Management organizations. Students are responsible for arranging their own practicum.

Submit a professional portfolio that documents an actual event your have managed or helped coordinate.

The program requirements must be completed within two years from the date of your first class.
