Carter Grant (4th year, Human Resources Management) was named winner of the Great Canadian Sales Competition, Canada’s biggest student competition, on March 9.
Grant won the grand prize of $7,500, beating 2,187 applicants from across Canada.
In the final round, he faced off against four other competitors at Google Canada’s headquarters in downtown Toronto.
The challenge was to role-play a live sales meeting in front of the crowd of judges, Grant's fellow competitors and industry experts.
Grant represented Freshbooks, the Toronto-based cloud accounting company, and was paired with industry mentor Rich Dang, Sales Manager at FreshBooks, who acted as the buyer.
Dang called Grant “a model of the future” of sales and emphasized his incredible talent.
The judges for the final round were Bloomberg TV anchor Amanda Lang, former Dragon Bruce Coxon, Google Head of Industry Chris Adamkowski, Notable.ca Founder/CEO Julian Brass, and Sales Talent Agency VP Kristin Condon.
Grant was announced as winner at a gala event at Corus Quay, headquarters of Corus Entertainment.
Congratulations Carter Grant!
