The Program
The Ted Rogers School of Retail Management is the only school of its kind in Canada to offer a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Retail Management.
You will learn all aspects of business management with a focus on retail. In addition to fundamental business courses, including Finance, Marketing, Economics, etc., you will also study retail specific courses, including Buying, Supply Chain, Issues and Innovations in Retail, Retail Consumer Insight.
Experiential Learning
Your education goes beyond the classroom with experiential learning activities including:
- Study tours to New York City, Montreal, Shanghai, and Beijing.
- Window Wonderland Competition - design a visual display at a retailer along Yonge and Dundas streets.
- Retail Week - meet industry executives as they host speaker sessions and competitions during this week-long series of events.
- The Michael Belcourt Lecture Series - hear from retail leaders including Joe Mimran of Joe Fresh, Larry Rosen of Harry Rosen, and John Morioka of Target Canada.
Internships
Gain valuable work experience with a mandatory, paid internship, taken in the summer after your 3rd year of study.
Possible internships include:
- Marketing Assistant at Vaughan Mills
- Store Operations at Staples Canada
- Business Analyst at Target Canada
- Buying Intern at Holt Renfew
