Catherine Middleton, Canada Research Chair in Communication Technologies in the Information Society, focuses her research efforts on the development and use of new communication technologies, with specific interest on mobile devices, and fixed and wireless broadband networks. Highly respected in her field, she is the recipient of many honours, including the Ryerson University Faculty SRC [Research] Activity Award and Ryerson Research Award, and has held fellowships at Statistics Canada and the University of Sydney. Middleton joined the Ted Rogers School of Management in 2001and is committed to student success. She brings her industry experience into the classroom as a professor in Innovation and Organization Theory in the MBA/MMSc graduate degree, and is a supervisor in the Communication and Culture graduate program.

Middleton’s views on technology in society are highly regarded across the country. Most recently, she was invited to give testimony to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology Study of Broadband and Internet Access Across Canada.
