Hong Yu has been associate professor at the Ted Rogers School of Retail Management at Ryerson University since 2007, and was previously an assistant professor at the School of Fashion under the Faculty of Design and Communication at Ryerson from 2004 to 2007. With a global understanding of the fashion, retailing and tourism industries from faculty positions in Canada, the United States and China, Yu has a wide range of experience to share with her students. She currently teaches five undergraduate courses in the area of retail management, supervises the MBA integrative research project and is a member of the Ted Rogers School of Management Research Committee.

Yu is committed to her research and has completed 13 funded research projects since 2001 on consumer behaviour and marketing strategies in the context of an experiential economy. She has also published 43 academic papers in peer reviewed international journals and conferences, receiving many awards for her work, including the “Best Research Paper Award” in Europe with a team of researchers.
