Services

The Business Career Hub offers career development opportunities tailored to each student’s individual needs and program specialization, whether it is finance or hospitality and tourism management. Career consultants at the Business Career Hub are specialists in various program areas and will meet one-on-one with you to ensure that you have the academic, professional and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in the workplace. All of your career consultants have a keen understanding of the marketplace and current employment opportunities, so tap into their expertise as you begin planning for a successful future.

The centre is well-connected to local, national and international employers and brings them to campus to share their insights with students

Resources

The Business Career Hub provides access to innovative digital tools and resources to assist students in preparing for the future, whether choosing a career path or looking for a job upon graduation. Students can take advantage of these resources singly or in combination, and career consultants are available to assist them in making the most of these options:

  • Magnet, an online system for building a detailed digital portfolio that is searchable – and regularly searched -- by employers
  • Interview Stream, a web-based interview simulation tool that allows students record mock interviews and obtain valuable feedback (see resources below on how to create an account)
  • Who You Are Matters, an experiential discovery process that allows students to explore their existing ideas about work and discover new ones
  • A comprehensive Career Preparation Workbook, designed especially for students as a planning resource, complete with interactive exercises.
Interview Stream Resources

Create an InterviewStream account in a few easy steps:

  1. Start by visiting the Ted Rogers School of Management InterviewStream site.
  2. Click on the word register in the upper right hand corner (under the sign in boxes) to create your account.
  3. Set your location to your chosen major or to Ryerson University, Ted Rogers School of Management, if you have not declared a major yet.
  4. Enter your Name and Email Address. Make sure you use your @ryerson.ca email.
  5. Create a unique password.
  6. Remember to click register at the end!

Don’t have a camera on your laptop?

You can use the InterviewStream mobile app to complete your video interviews. Once you have created your account, click on the Mobile Interview tile in your dashboard. This will provide you with the links to the mobile app. Once downloaded, simply log in using your account info. You will be able to complete everything from there.
