Admission Decision Release Dates

Admission decisions are based on the information we have available at the time we review your application. Your application will be processed subject to admission and selection criteria and the availability of space when your material is received.


 
  • Current Ontario secondary school applicants - the majority of admission decisions will be made between now and May 29, 2013 and posted to your Choose>Ryerson applicant portal.
  • All other applicants - decisions are being posted to your Choose>Ryerson portals on an on-going basis; the majority of decisions will be available for viewing between now and late June.

  • Space is limited and admissions standards may exceed the noted minimums. Required overall averages and subject-specific grade requirements are determined on the basis of competition.
  • Grades-Only selective programs consider students on the basis of academic achievement only. Additional non-academic criteria is not required for admission consideration. The release dates for Grades-Only programs noted below are provided as a guideline only and are subject to change. Students who are not selected for admission to a Grades-Only program will be notified on an ongoing basis.
  • Grades-Plus selective programs consider non-academic criteria/factors such as interviews, auditions, essays, portfolios, etc. in the selection process in addition to academic achievement. The release dates for Grades-Plus programs noted below are provided as a guideline only and are subject to change. Students who are not selected for admission to a Grades-Plus program will be notified on an ongoing basis commencing in May.
  • Part-time and Direct-Entry applicants may receive first-round admission decisions beginning in June and early July. Admission decisions for these programs continue to be released on an ongoing basis.
  • Wait Lists - Students who have applied/amended by Feb 1 will be notified by late May if they have been placed on a Wait List. Students on a Wait List may be contacted regarding an Offer, subject to space availability, commencing in mid-June and up to the beginning of classes.


Grades-Only Programs - Admission Decision Release Dates

  • First Offers are generally released from mid March to mid April
  • First Offers are based on your best three to six Grade 12 U/M courses (final or mid-term grades).
  • Grade 12 U/M courses must generally have an average of 76-80 % or higher, depending on the program; some programs may require higher averages.
  • Applicants must have completed or be currently registered in all the specific subject prerequisites.
  • Unless otherwise noted in your Offer of Admission, Offers will be issued on the following conditions: a final overall average of at least 70 % in your best six Grade 12 U/M courses AND a final mark of at least 60 per cent in all program subject prerequisites.
  • All admission requirements (e.g. six Grade 12 U/M courses, including subject prerequisites) must be completed by June 30, 2013.
 

  • Second Offers (for students who did not meet the criteria for First Offers) commence in early May.

  • Second Offers are based on your best six Grade 12 U/M courses (final or mid-term grades).

  • Unless otherwise noted in your Offer of Admission, Offers will be issued on the following conditions: a final overall average of at least 70 % in your best six Grade 12 U/M courses AND a final mark of at least 60 % in all program subject prerequisites, depending on the program.

  • All admission requirements (e.g. six Grade 12 U/M courses, including subject prerequisites) must be completed by June 30, 2013.

  • Students who have satisfied the selection criteria of a Grades Plus program may receive a conditional Offer of Admission, which will outline the conditions of acceptance.
  • All admission requirements must be completed by June 30, 2013.
