Approved Students - Congratulations!

Admission Decision Release Dates - Program- by- Program Timeline
Normally, the earliest date that Ontario secondary school applicants may receive Offers of Admission is early March. Out-of-province secondary school applicants may receive an Offer of Admission as soon as interim marks are received by Ryerson and the assessment is completed. All other applicants may have their applications considered as soon as all documents are received and the selection process is complete. If we are unable to offer you a space in the program to which you have applied, your application may be put on a Wait List.

Offers of Admission
If your application to an undergraduate program at Ryerson is approved, you will be notified by an official Offer of Admission. When you accept your Offer, it certifies that all application information and documents are correct and complete. Otherwise your admission to, and/or registration at Ryerson may be revoked at any time. Ryerson reserves the right to withdraw Offers of Admission made to students who fail to: meet the condition(s) outlined in their Offer of Admission, respond by the confirmation date specified in their Offer , make a deposit and/or fee payment as required.

Deferred Offers of Admission
An Offer of Admission is valid only for the term/year specified in the Offer and may not be deferred to another term/year. Normally, Ryerson does not defer admission. This is due to the volume of applications, the size of enrolment and the nature of the selection process. Students who receive an Offer of Admission, who wish to apply for a subsequent year, must apply for admission for that year in accordance with published procedures. Only in the case of a serious, extenuating circumstance will a request for a deferral be assessed. Such a request must be in writing and sent through regular mail to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions.

How to Reserve Your Place - Three Steps

Details about the three essential steps to reserve your place in your program will be included in theFall 2012 Approval Guide (Coming Soon). A hard copy of this brochure will be mailed to all Approved Students with their official Offer of Admission letter from Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment.

Here's an outline of the three essential steps to reserve your place:

Confirm Your Offer of Admission via the OUAC

Your Confirmation Deadline Date will be clearly stated in your Offer of Admission. If you applied to Ryerson via the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC), you must visit the OUAC website and select the category that applies to you (OUAC 101 or OUAC 105). Log in using your OUAC Reference Number and your PIN/Password and follow the instructions. When you accept your Offer of Admission via the OUAC, you are agreeing to meet all conditions as stated in your Offer. You must complete this online confirmation process by the Confirmation Deadline Date stated in your official Offer letter from Ryerson. Details about confirming your Offer of Admission are outlined in the Approval Guide.

When you respond online, you must click on the “Submit” button and follow the steps in order to send your response to the OUAC. A screen displaying your confirmation number will appear immediately after successfully submitting a response which will include a summary of all changes/responses made within that session. You should make note of this number (in writing or by printing the screen) and keep it in a safe place. Successfully submitted responses to Offers of Admission will be processed within one business day.

When you accept an Offer of Admission from one university/program, this will not cancel applications to other universities and/or programs. However you may hold only one accepted Offer of Admission at a time. Before you can accept a subsequent offer online, you must first cancel the previously accepted offer.

Note:
Please allow 48 hours (from the time you view your admission decision via the "My Application Status" feature of your Choose>Ryerson portal) for your admission decision to be reflected on the OUAC site.

Meet Your Admission Conditions

It is your responsibility to meet the academic admission requirements stated in your Offer, which may include the applicable graduation diploma, required overall average and the subject prerequisites with the required grades. Make sure you review the conditions of your Offer of Admission and confirm that your final marks and overall average fulfill the conditions. You will know whether or not you meet your conditions before Ryerson does. Ryerson does not start reviewing conditional Offers until final grades and standings are received by Ryerson in late July or early August. Ryerson does not verbally extend or remove any conditions of admission. Admission averages are based on two decimal points and are not rounded.
