Who is an international student? |
| A. |
An international student is any student who is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and must therefore obtain a study permit (student visa) in order to attend Ryerson. These students are charged international tuition fees ( $20,270 - $23,637). Canadian citizens living abroad, Canadian Permanent Residents (Landed Immigrants), and approved refugee claimants are not considered international students. How many international students attend Ryerson? |
| A. |
There are over 140 different countries represented at Ryerson, and our campus is arguably the most ethnically diverse in Canada. Currently, there approximately 1,000 students studying at Ryerson on study permits or student visas. We have a much larger population of students who have come to Ryerson and Toronto from around the globe to study- but we miss them in our head count because they are Canadian citizens or have permanent resident status. |
