About the Program: Literature brings the world to life in creative ways, animating our experience of diverse identities, cultures and time periods. Engaging with stories, poems, graphic novels, films, blogs and digital content makes it possible to develop new perspectives on the complex relationships between art and life. Ryerson graduates transform their broad understanding of literature and culture into a variety of rewarding career opportunities in writing, teaching, business, library science, the arts and related fields.
This program selects students on the basis of academic achievement/grades only. Additional non-academic requirements are not required for admission consideration.
Applicants interested in the double major programs in English and History or English and Philosophy must apply for admission to one of the ten major programs (Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology or Sociology), or to Undeclared Arts. Students are not admitted directly to a double major.
The Faculty of Arts accepts applications for transfer to a double major program in the second semester of studies. Approved transfer students commence studies in the double major program in second year. Further details on the process will be provided by the Faculty of Arts during first semester.
