The Annual Australasian Victorian Studies Association 2007
Conference, 'Victorian Beginnings' (celebrating 170 years
since Victoria ascended the throne) now calls for papers from
all who carry out research in the field of Victorian Studies.
AVSA is an interdisciplinary association and we enthusiastically
welcome contributions from historians, fine-art specialists,
musicologists, architectural historians, engineering historians,
as well as cultural studies and literary specialists. There
will be sessions dedicated to the topics of "Travel and
Translation" and "Victorian Medievalism."
Suggested topics might include but are not limited to:
Victorian medievalism, travel, translation, industrialism,
science, print media, theatre, poetry, colonialism, imperialism,
religion, engineering, architecture, painting, politics.
Submission of abstracts of 250 words maximum (deadline 31
October 2006) to A/Prof. Judith Johnston judithj@cyllene.uwa.edu.au.
