About the Viola Desmond Awards and Banquet
The annual Viola Desmond Awards and Banquet takes place on May 11th, 2018 at 6 p.m. in the Mattamy Athletic Centre‘s Coca Cola Court. We will feature the achievements of accomplished Black women in Canada and celebrate the debut of $10 bill featuring Viola Desmond, the first Black woman to be featured on a regularly circulating Bank of Canada note.
Join us at this annual anniversary of the Viola Desmond Awards by making a gift to support the student award and bursary at TMU. Help us to carry the memory and example of Viola Desmond forward for generations to come.
