In-class Presentations:
The Writing Centre expanded its in-class presentation work. Many of our tutors are graduate students who will come right to your classroom and deliver a customized presentation pertaining to any upcoming writing requirements your students have to work on. Asking a tutor to come to your class is more efficient than sending all your students to the Writing Centre with the same questions. You can see a sample of the slides used for in-class presentations and workshops on the Writing Centre's website. If you are interested, please send an outline of an assignment your students are going to write, with your preferred date and time, the number of students you have, and the classroom location to writingcentre@ryerson.ca. Let us know if the room has presentation technology and if you would like us to bring handouts.
Workshops:
You can send your students to the different workshops offered by the Writing Centre. Your students can also formally be asked to attend different workshops (where their attendance will be taken and a report sent back to you) through the Office of Academic Integrity.
Consulting:
The Writing Centre also offers one-on-one advice for your courses or other professional needs. Please contact us for more information.
Resources:
In the future, you will find more and more resources related to reading and writing that could be useful to you as professors. If you have such material and would like to share it with other faculty members, please email the Writing Centre and we'll be happy to include it here.
