George Ryan meets Ryerson students at OPIA meeting in Toronto

George Ryan

George Ryan, President and CEO of the Printing Association of Florida was in Toronto recently to present the 2009 Technology Forecast to the Ontario Printing and Imaging Association (OPIA). On October 15, at the posh St. George’s Golf and Country Club (no jeans or cell phones), George addressed local printers and suppliers on the latest trends in print and online technologies. George summarized new products from the Print 09 Chicago show and addressed innovations in sheetfed, web offset, digital, bindery, prepress, colour management. Of course George highlighted the upcoming Graphics of the Americas show in Miami in February, 2010. Tracey Preston and OPIA member companies invited ten Ryerson students and faculty to the evening. Student Marta Wajda (left in photo) made a short presentation about the activities of the Ryerson TAGA Student Chapter. Thank you to OPIA and sponsoring companies - Domtar, Heidelberg, Presstek and Xerox for their support. We are proud of our GCM students who were sharp and smart this evening.
