General
Information
This conference
series is conceived to promote the growth and exchange of scientific
information on thermal engineering theory and applications. The
International Conference on Thermal Engineering provides a forum for
interaction among theoreticians, numerical modeler and experimentalist
and further serves to foster cross-disciplinary cooperation. It is held
every year and a half, and rotates among countries in the Middle-East,
North Africa and the Mediterranean Basin. The 1st International
Conference on Thermal Engineering was held in Beirut, Lebanon in May
2004 under the patronage of his Excellency Emile Lahoud the President of
Lebanon. A total 80 papers and keynote lectures were presented. A
special issue of the prestigious Journal of Applied Mechanics
(Transactions of ASME) devoted to selected peer reviewed papers from the
1st ICTEA appeared in January 2006. The city of Al Ain in the United
Arab Emirates played host to the Conference the same month, which was
held under the high patronage of his Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin
Mubarak Al Nahyan. It saw an increased number of attendees with the
presentation of 127 papers. The 3rd ICTEA took place in Amman Jordan in
May 2007 under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Jordan, his
Excellency, Dr. Ma'roof al Bakheit with 150 papers presented.
The 4th ICTEA was
held in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates on the campus of the
Petroleum Institute in January 2009 comprises 177 papers with
participation spread geographically further a field that ever before.
The thermal engineering topics covered in the technical program of the
4th ICTEA range from double diffusive convection to thermodiffusion,
energy and energy analysis methods, biological heat transfer, numerical
methods in fluid flow and heat transfer, porous media, enhanced oil
recovery, waste management and waste disposal, microgravity sciences and
processes, combustion, multi-phase flow and heat transfer, melting and
solidification, internal flow and heat transfer, new and renewable
energy technologies, environmental engineering, heat transfer with
non-Newtonian fluids, non-Newtonian fluid flow and heat transfer and
polymer processing science and technology.
Scope
The conference focuses on emerging research trends
in thermal energy. The conference offers the opportunity to share
research results and discuss new technologies, market information and
consumer education programs. Both stand-up presentations and posters
will be considered. Papers are solicited in all areas of thermal energy
and its applications.
