THIRD ANNUAL
SHIRLEY SHIPMAN MEMORIAL LECTURE

In honour of Shirley Shipman, a founding member of LIFE and for many years co-chair of the Curriculum Committee, the Shipman family has established a fund in support of an annual lecture on topics that reflect Shirley’s commitment to social justice and lifelong learning.

*David Hulchanski
Director, Centre for Urban and Community Studies, University of Toronto, and lead author of “Three Cities,” a recent study on income polarization among Toronto neighbourhoods.
*Pat Capponi
Lead Facilitator, Voices From the Street, and author of two books published by Penguin Canada detailing her own direct experiences with poverty and mental illness.
*Marvyn Novick
Professor Emeritus in the School of Social Work at Ryerson University and currently Policy Consultant, Campaign 2000/Social Planning Network of Ontario.
