Changes in Clinical Placement Allocations
March 17 2015
The MEP has restructured the allocation of midwifery clinical placements for midwifery students across the three program sites. Until now, midwifery clinical placements have been centrally coordinated at Ryerson University. Going forward, midwifery clinical placements will be coordinated locally by each of the three program sites.
Each midwifery practice group has been assigned to one of the three universities as a placement site and students will now be placed with practices affiliated with their specific university. This change will be in effect for midwifery clinical placements beginning January 1, 2016 (Normal Childbearing 2016). Please note that senior midwifery clinical placements for 2015-16 already allocated will go forward as planned.
By becoming a preceptor, you are supporting learning and teaching in midwifery practice. We hold regular workshops, and provide resources and support for preceptors and students in clinical placements.
