Transfer Credits

Ryerson undergraduate students who have confirmed their Offer of Admission are eligible to apply for transfer credit.  Students who have completed previous post-secondary studies (at an accredited institution) may be eligible for transfer credit for electives or other non-clinical courses in Levels 1 and 2. Each application will be assessed on an individual basis. An Offer of Admission does not guarantee that credits will be awarded. Generally, transfer or challenge credits will not reduce the time required to complete the program.

There is no fee for applying for transfer credits for newly approved undergraduate students. A $50 Late Application Fee (subject to change) will be charged to all returning undergraduate students who apply for transfer credit after the May 30th Transfer Credit Application Deadline of their first year.

Students must visit www.ryerson.ca/currentstudents/transfercredits/ for transfer credit application forms and complete instructions.

Courses from accredited universities are considered for transfer credit when completed with a grade of 'C' or better, where 'C' equals 60% or higher.

Courses from accredited Community Colleges/Institutes of Technology may be considered for transfer credit when completed with a grade of 'B' or better, where 'B' equals 70% or higher.

Transfer credits may be granted for the following courses:

Level One:
Required Group 1 - Women's Studies Elective (2 credits)
Professionally Related Electives (1 credit)
Anatomy and Physiology (BLG 10A/B)
Critical Appraisal of Research Literature (MWF 109)

Level Two:
Required Group 1 - Social Science Courses (2 credits)
Courses must be similar in content, breadth and depth as listed in the calendar under the 3rd Semester Required Group 1.

  • Other first and second year courses may be considered for transfer credits on the advice of the program director or your faculty advisor.  Please click here to view accepted Ryerson electives.
