2007   K.B. Woods Award Nominee, Award given each year by the U.S. Transportation Research Board for the best journal paper in the area of design and construction.

2005     Arthur M. Wellington Prize, from American Society of Civil Engineers for the best paper on transportation on land, on water, in air, or on closely related fields such as structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineering. Award.

2001      Frank M. Masters Transportation Engineering Award, from American Society of Civil Engineers in recognition of "outstanding contributions to ASCE and the transportation profession throughout his career at national and local levels both professionally and as an academician.Award
