Gao (2022) Merging control strategies of connected and autonomous vehicles at freeway on-ramps: A comprehensive review, Journal of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles, 5(2),  was selected for the 2022 Best Paper Award of JICV. The award involves a certificate and a cash prize.

2021        Best Paper Award: A paper entitled “Modeling Vehicle Collision Instincts over Road Midblock using Deep Learning,” by S. Patil, N. Raju, S. Arkatkar, and S. Easa won the Best Paper Award of the traffic engineering track at the 8th International Conference on Transportation Systems Engineering and Management (CTSEM2021), held online in Kerala, India, August 26-27, 2021.

2021        Featured Paper. A paper entitled “Intersection Sight Distance Characteristics of Turbo Roundabouts” by A Salwan, S. Easa, N Raju, and S. Arkatkar was selected as the Featured Paper on the cover of an issue of the Designs Journal, 5, 2021.

2021        International Academic Chair, 6th International Conference on Electromechanical Control Technology and Transportation (ICECTT 2021), held in Chongqing, China, May 14-16, 2021. The conference was organized by the Academic Exchange International Center and co-organized by more than ten universities in China. The conference attracted nearly 300 experts, teachers, and students from more than 40 universities and scientific and technological enterprises.

2020         Featured Paper. A paper entitled “Optimal Speed Plan for the Overtaking of Autonomous Vehicles on Two-Lane Highways,” by M. Diachuk and S. Easa, was selected as the Featured Paper in the cover of a special issue of the Infrastructures Journal, 5(8), 2020.

2020        IAAM Fellow Award, Award was given by the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM). The lecture was entitled "Uncertainty-based Superpave asphalt mix design.”

2020        Featured Paper. A paper entitled “Performance-Based Analysis in Civil Engineering: Overview of Applications,” by S. Easa and W. Yan was selected as the Featured Paper in a special issue of the Infrastructures Journal, 4(2), 28, 1-41, 2019. The issue includes 21 research papers and one review paper. The special issue is guest-edited by Dr. Pedro Arias-Sánchez (Editor-in-Chief) and Dr. Susana Lagüela López.

2020        IAAM Lecture Award, Award was given to postdoc fellow Dr. V. Abolhasannejad by IAAM. The lecture was entitled "Experimental evaluation of Deformation of Transport Infrastructures Using Image-based Methods," by Abolhasannejad, Easa, Dong, Huang, and Li.

2020        Webinar Lecturer to Transportation Research Group India presented a webinar lecture entitled "Discerning Driver Behavior for Traffic-Flow Applications using Vehicular Trajectories" to TRG India (126 attendees). This lecture addressed recent developments of trajectory data for heterogeneous traffic. The webinar is primarily targeted at generating interest among researchers, especially doctoral and master students.

2019        Invited Delegate. Invited by the Government of China to attend the ceremony of the National Anniversary of the Founding of China, held in Great Hall, Beijing, China, September 26-29. One major event attended was the seminar on “China Science and Technology Innovation Policy.”

2019        Member, Advisory Board. The activities include: If you serve on the Advisory Board, you can help us on the following aspects: (1) advising on journal policy, development strategies, and promotion. (2) being invited to make preliminary checks and the final decision for the submissions falling in my area of expertise, (3) proposing and serving as guest editor of Special Issues, and (4) helping to promote the journal at scientific conferences and through other venues.

2018        IAAM Medal for 2018. The International Association for Advanced Materials (over 50,000 members from 139 countries) has honoured Dr. Said Easa with the IAAM Medal for 2018 for "notable and outstanding research in the Advanced Materials Science & Technology." The award was presented to Dr. Easa by IAAM Secretary-General Dr. Ashutosh Tiwari at the award ceremony held at the European Advanced Materials Congress, Stockholm, Sweden, August 20-23, 2018. Award
