COVID-19 and Online Learning Update:

Due to Ryerson's response to COVID-19, all AAS programs and services are currently being offered remotely. Refer to relevant sections of this website for specific updates to our processes.

SHIFT Online is Ryerson’s summer transition program for incoming students with disabilities, open to any student with a disability entering an Ontario post-secondary institution for the 2021-2022 academic year.

This 5-part program provides targeted support for students to succeed in both online and in-person classes, beginning with a session about accessing accommodations at Ryerson.

SHIFT Online will also guide students through an exploration of:

  • assistive technology
  • online lectures
  • learning strategies
  • self-advocacy

The program also offers participants an opportunity to meet current Ryerson students who identify with a disability, so they can learn more about the student experience and start making some social connections on campus.

The 2021 program will be hosted virtually, on Zoom. All registrants will receive a Zoom link 24 hours prior to the event.
