COVID-19 Update: Accommodated Tests

The in-person Test Centre is currently closed. AAS-registered students should still book their accommodated tests through the Online Student Accommodations Portal, so that instructors are notified of their test accommodations. Then, the instructor will be able to apply the appropriate accommodations within the online test platform.

Faculty/Instructors

Visit our Faculty page to learn more about managing accommodated tests and Test Centre services for remote assessments.

Guided by our core values of service and integrity, The Test Centre provides quality test administration in a professional, secure, and positive testing environment that allows students to demonstrate their learning. In addition to providing services for Ryerson students, faculty, and instructors, we administer tests for individuals and organizations.

The Ryerson Test Centre includes both the Accommodated Test Centre and the Make Up Test Centre. We support students with disabilities with booking and administering their accommodated tests, as well as supporting the larger Ryerson community with non-accommodated make-up tests. Tests are generally conducted on site, at the Test Centre location on campus.

If you are a student living with a disability looking to book a make-up test, please book through the Accommodated Test Centre, using the AAS Student Portal.

I need to write an accommodated quiz, test, or midterm:

You must book online and in-person accommodated quizzes, tests, and midterms 10 days before the test date, using the AAS Student Portal. Book for the same date and time the class is writing, not the accommodated writing time.

If you have agreed upon a separate time with your instructor, you can book for the new time. The instructor will be notified and must confirm the new time.

The Test Centre will automatically apply your accommodations or communicate them to your instructor to set up in an online environment. You will receive a confirmation email, indicating the accommodated writing time (for example, extra time).

If writing in person, arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time and bring your valid Ryerson One Card.

I need to write an accommodated final exam:

You must book all accommodated final exams by the deadline each semester, using the AAS Student Portal.

You will receive a confirmation email, indicating the accommodated writing time (for example, including extra time).

If writing in person, arrive 30 minutes prior to your start time and bring your valid Ryerson One Card.

Exceptional Bookings

The Accommodated Test Centre needs time to prepare for final exams in order to guarantee accommodation to those that booked by our requested date (Monday, April 5, 2021). As such, we are no longer accepting exceptional bookings.

If you missed the deadline, your options are:

  • Prepare to write your final exam without accommodations; or
  • Speak to your professor about the possibility of them adding your accommodations to the remote test.
  • Feel free to keep your Accommodation Facilitator updated and request support if needed.

Good luck on your remote final exams!
