Female-led Canadian startups have an opportunity to expand their businesses into the Indian market thanks to a partnership program with Toronto-based startup accelerator and seed fund Ryerson Futures Inc., external link (RFI) and Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada. The market access program was announced at the established RFI accelerator, Zone Startups India, external link, in Mumbai.
Companies from across Canada will be selected and provided access to local boot camps to prepare them for Indian market entry. The program is targeting 100 companies looking to scale internationally and provide market access. Selected companies will demonstrate that their growing businesses have the best chance of succeeding in a new market.
Simultaneously, there is also a partner program being launched with the Government of India’s Department of Science and Technology that will bring Indian founders to Canada to expose them to the Canadian market.
At Ryerson University, we acknowledge the importance of inclusivity in our future prosperity and the role of women entrepreneurs in fostering innovation.
