The LIFE Institute is looking for volunteer instructors.

Do you have a passion for sharing knowledge? Are you an expert in your field and enjoy connecting with an older audience? The LIFE Institute is looking for you!

The LIFE Institute is a not-for-profit charitable organization affiliated with the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University, with over 2,300 current members, and offering courses in the arts, humanities, sciences, technology and contemporary issues for a 50+ audience.

The institute is currently in need of volunteer instructors who are acknowledged experts or professors in their chosen fields. Most courses are held on the Ryerson campus or at venues in close proximity to campus. Courses are once a week for two hours over a six to eight-week term and attract
30 – 200 participants.

Instructors are responsible for developing the course including research, providing reading materials, presentation, and delivery. Courses can be delivered in a variety of formats, facilitated by the instructor, through guest speakers, as a directed course, or via lecture format with some discussion.

For information about opportunities, please contact Eva Bell by email at or by calling 416-690-1335. Interested instructors are asked to submit a two-paragraph outline of a prospective course and a biography to Eva Bell.
