Quad gate dedicated to former president who led Ryerson to
      full university status

Terence (Terry) W. Grier, Ryerson University’s sixth president, was recently honoured when the archway at the south side of the Quad was named the Terence W. Grier Gate. A plaque installed on the arch bears the following inscription: Professor Grier was Ryerson’s President from 1988 to 1995, providing exceptional leadership through a period of profound transformation culminating in the landmark achievement of full university status in 1993.
