Experiment: Ocean in a Jar

Have you ever wondered why deep-sea creatures look so...well...weird?! (external link, opens in new window)  With their huge eyes and sharp teeth, why don’t they look more like the colourful fish we see in the coral reef? And why is it that we know more about the surface of the moon than we do about the ocean floor?

We tackle all these questions and much more in this “Eureka!” Weekends session where we build our own Ocean in a Jar! Learn about how density, light, and the food chain combine to create the bizarre underwater world we’re still only beginning to understand!
