The following is a list of scholarships specific to architectural science. You can find a full list of Faculty-wide entrance scholarships on the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science website.

For a full-time student enrolled in second, third or fourth year, with a minimum GPA of 3.00 and a clear academic standing. You must demonstrate how your academic and non-academic activities exhibit your talents of leadership, particularly skills in architectural communication, compatibility for professional practice and collaboration in a professional setting. For best overall performance in first-year Communications Studio and Design Studio I. No application required.

For highest overall academic achievement in fourth-year building science option. No application required.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: 1) be enrolled as a full-time fourth-year student in architectural science and have clear academic standing; 2) have a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in the architectural science program; 3) be enrolled in the fourth-year architecture specialization; 4) demonstrate the highest academic excellence in Integration Studios I and II; 5) show dedication, excellence in design, and commitment in Integration Studios I and II; 6) show potential to be highly successful in the profession of architecture. Awarded for highest academic achievement in third year Project Economics I. No application required.

To be eligible for this award, you must be enrolled as a full-time graduate or undergraduate student in any program in the Department of Architectural Science, have a clear academic standing and a minimum CGPA of 3.00. You must also submit an architectural design project that incorporates steel in an innovative manner to the awards committee for review. The project must have been completed in the previous 12 months. However, it may have been completed as an assignment within a course taken for credit, or as an entry to an architectural ideas competition. For highest overall performance in the area of steel structures design. No application required.

To be eligible for this award, you must be enrolled full-time in the fourth year of the project management specialization of the architectural science program, have a clear academic standing and a minimum CGPA of 3.00. Your application must include a two-page letter describing your strengths and accomplishments in academics and extracurricular activities. The letter must demonstrate your respect, integrity, service, excellence, ability to work in a team environment, and superior communication skills. You will also need to provide at least one letter of support from an individual in an organization who can comment on your contributions to the activities in the areas described above. To be eligible for this award, you must be enrolled as a full-time fourth-year student in the Department of Architectural Science and have clear academic standing. You must be enrolled in the building science option, demonstrate leadership in group situations and the ability to be a consensus builder in team learning situations. You will also demonstrate passion for building science within architecture, including extracurricular activities. To be eligible for this award, you must be registered as an undergraduate student at Ryerson University, have clear academic standing, and be a full-time student enrolled in any year of the undergraduate architectural science program. You will be required to demonstrate, through submission of a studio project, a high level of design merit that incorporates creative, thoughtful and sustainable strategies in an urban infill project. The criteria of this award are achievement, initiative and innovation. It will be awarded to the student who has completed third year in the architectural science program and achieved academic excellence. No application required.

This award is reserved for an undergraduate student enrolled full-time in the Department of Architectural Science who fits the following criteria: 1) made extracurricular contributions related to architecture/building/construction; 2) achieved an outstanding academic record; 3) made a notable contribution to professionally-related student activities within the department. To be eligible for this award, you must have completed a four-year degree in the architectural science program within the previous 12 months and have a minimum GPA upon graduation of 3.00. You must also submit a design of a poster representing the work you completed in the studio. This award is reserved for an undergraduate student enrolled full-time in the Department of Architectural Science who fits the following criteria: 1) must be taking 100% of the course load and have successfully completed all courses from previous years; 2) have an academic record of clear standing; 3) demonstrate overall excellence with a CGPA of 3.00 or higher. The CGPA to be considered will include all the semesters completed at the time of the selection; 4) submit for the committee’s review a single image, in PDF format. The image may have been produced using any technique or medium. Three-dimensional objects, such as models, are not eligible for this award; 5) the image must have been produced by the student as course work within a course offered by the Department of Architectural Science and taken by the student within the twelve months immediately preceding the application. The scholarship recognizes excellence in image-making within the Architectural Science disciplines. You must also submit a design of a poster representing the work you completed in the studio. To be eligible for this award that recognizes academic achievement, you must meet the following criteria: 1) be a full-time architectural science student entering into third or fourth year with a focus on project management; 2) be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person; 3) be an Ontario resident; 4) demonstrate financial need; 5) demonstrate overall excellence with a CGPA of 3.00 or higher; 6) demonstrate an interest in project management through the choice of courses undertaken, extracurricular activities and/or through summer work; or provide a reference letter supporting the application from a professor, employer or volunteer organization. To be eligible for this award, you must be registered as an undergraduate student at Ryerson University and have clear academic standing. You must also be enrolled as a full-time student in the building science option in fourth year, and have the highest CGPA in third year studies. No application required.

This award recognizes a student who has completed the fourth year of the architectural science program, demonstrating excellence in the fourth-year architecture option studio. No application required.

For a student currently enrolled in second year of architectural science who has demonstrated best overall academic performance in first year. No application required.

To be eligible for this award, you must be an undergraduate student in good academic standing who has completed the third year of the program. You must also demonstrate an awareness and accomplishment in construction technology, and have a record of academic excellence as demonstrated by a CGPA of 3.00 or higher. No application required.

To be eligible, you must must have completed first year and be enrolled in the second year as a full-time undergraduate student in the Department of Architectural Science. You must also demonstrate academic excellence by attaining the highest overall average in the stated first-year technical courses. No application required.

This award is reserved for a student who is enrolled full-time (at the time of award selection) in the third or fourth year program of study in architectural science or civil engineering. It recognizes the combination of extra-curricular contributions in the field of study related to architecture/building/construction. To be eligible for this award, you must be registered as an undergraduate student at Ryerson University, have clear academic standing, and be enrolled in the architectural science program. (One award is reserved for the student with the highest CGPA average in second year architecture courses. The other is reserved for the student with the highest CGPA in second year building science courses.) You must also be able to demonstrate financial need as determined by Ryerson University through submission of a student budget form. Two awards recognizing students with the overall highest academic achievement in first, second, third or fourth year of the architectural science program.

 

The Sepp Hannikainen Memorial Award is a financial award to a full-time undergraduate student who has successfully completed the second or third year of the architectural science program. This student must have completed all applicable construction management courses and demonstrate overall academic proficiency. To be eligible for this award, you must be registered as a full-time undergraduate student, be enrolled in the fourth-year architectural option, must have a clear academic standing, and must have the highest CGPA in third year. No application required.

To be eligible for this award, you must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the architectural science program, demonstrate academic achievement with a CGPA of 3.00 or higher, have a clear academic standing, demonstrate financial need, and be undertaking curriculum-based travel. (Curricular travel is defined as "participation in a field trip outside of Canada organized by Ryerson faculty as part of a course or studio taken for credit at Ryerson in the current academic year.")
