Arts Facts

Ryerson's Faculty of Arts is forward-thinking. While respecting academic traditions, we are not afraid to take risks and strive to push post-secondary education into new territory by connecting the past to the future. The Faculty of Arts has been steadfast in its commitment to program, faculty and student growth.

  • In 2016, 1,235 new full-time undergraduate students selected from a pool of over 15,000 applicants
  • 35 specialized research and teaching labs supporting Departments of English, Geography, Languages, Literatures and Cultures, Philosophy, and Psychology.
  • Over 500 graduate students across 7 graduate programs and 3 interdisciplinary programs
20 Arts Faculty Distinguished With Prestigious Awards
  • 91 books/book chapters and 172 peer reviewed articles, 35 on-line articles for a total of 298 publications by Arts faculty in 2014-2015
  • 201 full-time faculty members and 60 new tenure-track faculty hired since 2006
