The right foundation for success

As an Accounting & Finance student, you will be thoroughly educated in accounting, finance, and other essential business disciplines through a common two-year curriculum. Beginning in your third year, you will choose to pursue a BComm degree in either Accounting or Finance, leading to rewarding career opportunities in multiple sectors. The common two-year curriculum gives you a solid grounding in business and the knowledge to choose which major is right for you.

Our school is the only undergraduate school of Accounting & Finance located on Bay Street, in the heart of Canada’s biggest financial district, with the industry connections to match. Our location and connections lead to on-campus recruiting events and work-integrated learning partnerships with major banks, telecommunications companies, professional services and auditing firms, government agencies and many more.

Want to become a Chartered Professional Accountant? Fast-track your CPA designation at TRSM.

TRSM now offers a Professional Master’s Diploma in Accounting for graduating students. You will be able to complete the Core and Elective components of the CPA designation at TRSM immediately after graduating with your Accounting BComm. Once you have completed the Professional Master’s Diploma, you can fast-track directly to the Capstone portion of the CPA Professional Education Program before writing your Common Final Exam and earning your CPA.

Admission requirements

Academic Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements. Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:

  • English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
  • Advanced Functions (MHF4U)
  • Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U)
  • Note: a minimum grade of 75% is required in the subject prerequisites and as an overall average.

Bloomberg Lab

Become Bloomberg Certified and access real-time interactive financial information in TRSM’s Bloomberg Lab. TRSM student Maxwell Carr won $10,000 in the Montreal Exchange Options Trading Simulation Challenge in 2017 by researching financial data in the Bloomberg Lab.

Currently offering personalized academic advice to Accounting and Finance students and Business Management majors*, this central unit helps you make the most of your university experience through advising appointments and drop-ins.

The Student Advising team takes a holistic approach by supporting you through course selection and connecting you with specific resources and extracurricular activities on campus.
