Receiving Results

After your test or exam, take the completed sheets to Duplicating Services at 105 Bond Street. The sheets will be scanned and you will be provided with statistical summaries of the results both in hard copy and via email (provided you included your Ryerson email on the System sheet). Grading reports in plain text and Excel formats will be included in the email, as well as one or two D2L Brightspace upload files (one with unweighted marks that gives each question 1 mark, and possibly one with custom weights for each question) containing student usernames and grades. Results will be available the following business day. Valid Ryerson ID is required to pick up results. Detailed documentation about the results is available at Guide to TRS Results.

TRS sheets are extremely sensitive and the scanner will not detect the proper results if sheets have been marked, damaged, or even folded. Please treat the TRS sheets with the utmost care.

If using a Weight Sheet with custom weights, then TRS will generate up to three D2L Brightspace upload file​​s​ (Weighted, Unweighted, and Raw Marks)​​​​. To upload the Scantron grades to your D2L Brightspace course Grades:

  1. Go to: Grades Enter Grades > Import
  2. Browse > locate the file you want to import (D2l-upload.csv or D2L-upload.raw.csv). Select the file and click the Open button.
  3. Select Item Creation - this will create a new column in the gradebook, visible to students
  4. Click Continue Continue Import.
  1. Create a hidden column in the gradebook. Name it GRADE1 (you will rename it after you upload the grades).
  2. Go to: Grades > Enter Grades > Import
  3. Browse > locate the file you want to import (D2l-upload.csv or D2L-upload.raw.csv). Select the file and click the Open button.
  4. Click Continue Continue Import.
  5. Rename the column (click the drop-down button next to the column name > Edit > rename it and Save)

NOTE:
UNIVERSITY POLICY IS THAT SCANNED TRS SHEETS ARE OWNED BY THE INSTRUCTOR OR FACULTY THAT SUBMITTED THEM. THEY MUST BE RETAINED BY THE INSTRUCTOR IN THE EVENT THAT A STUDENT APPEALS THE MARKS AND NEEDS TO SEE HIS/HER SHEET.

IF THEY ARE NOT PICKED UP BEFORE THE END OF THE SEMESTER, THEY WILL BE PLACED IN STORAGE, AND A $20.00 FEE WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THEIR SUBSEQUENT RETRIEVAL

PLEASE PICK UP YOUR SCANTRONS, EVEN IF YOU GET THE RESULTS BY E-MAIL.
