Wireless Configuration Instructions (Mac OSX – LION)

These instructions will configure your wireless connection to the RU-Secure wireless network. It will allow you to authenticate and browse using a higher level of security and protection.

Configure Wireless Connection

Click on AirPort to see a list of available networks. Click RU-Secure network to connect.

When prompted for credentials, please enter your my.ryerson username and password - please note that your student number is not a valid username on the wireless.  Click Join.

From the Verify Certificate window, ensure that the certificate is for the RU-Secure network and that it is authenticating to rad.ns.ryerson.ca.   Click Continue.

If you are prompted to enter your administrative password, enter it and click OK, to apply the certificate.

You will now be connected to the RU-Secure wireless network. Your credentials are now cached and you will automatically be authenticated when you are within range of the wireless signal.

NOTE: Once you have successfully connected, Lion does NOT have the ability to prompt you for your credentials each time you wish to connect. You will automatically be logged on each time you are within range of the RU-Secure signal.

In case you wish to delete the RU-Secure profile, please follow the remaining steps to remove them. DO NOT DO THIS if you want to stay connected to RU-Secure.

Delete RU-Secure Profile

Click on Spotlight at the top right of your screen.

Click the magnifying glass and type keychain.

Click keychain.

From the Keychain Access window find and delete
a.    RU-Secure
b.    rad.ns.ryerson.ca.

Note: You may be prompted to enter your administrative password to complete the deletion.

When the above two items are removed from your keychain, disconnect from RU-Secure and you will not longer be automatically connected.  To regain access to RU-Secure, go to Step 1 in Configure Wireless Connection.
