Accessing CFAPS Folders

Manually Connecting (Mapping) to a CFAPS Shared Folder 

Open the My Computer folder. This can be found by clicking the My Computer shortcut on your Desktop, or by RIGHT clicking the start button, opening Windows Explorer and navigating to My Computer.

Select Tools and then select Map Network Drive.

Select Tools then Map Network Drive

A Map Network Drive window will appear.

Map Network Drive screen. The Drive text-box is set to Z:. The Folder text-box is blank. The checkbox for "Reconnect at logon" is checked.

Select a drive letter to map the shared drive to (the drop down menu will show all available letters you can select from). 

Within the Folder textbox, type in the path and name of the folder:

 \\sharedata.admn.ryerson.ca\Your_Unit_Name$\Shared_Folder

Note: The Dollar Sign, $, must follow the unit name, and Your_Unit_Name is where the shared folder resides. 

Ensure the Reconnect at logon check box is checked.  Click Finish when complete. 

You can now find the newly mapped folder by going to My Computer again, the folder will appear in the Network Drives section. 

Accessing Folder Off Campus

Off campus, access to your personal and shared departmental folders can be accessed securely using RU-VPN2.

With an RU-VPN2 connection you can also connect to your CFAPS folders.
