Installing vApps Client

Citrix Workspace is optional but recommended for a richer experience.
Follow the installation links below as per your operating system. In case of any installation problems, you can visit Citrix Workspace App website, external link, opens in new window (external link) to manually download it.
Requirements:
- my.Ryerson account with multi-factor authentication (MFA) set up

- Firefox, Edge, Chrome.
Note: The setup process may look different on different browsers, but the method of installation is the same.
Using Internet Explorer
To use Ryerson’s virtual applications (vApps), the Citrix Workspace software must be installed on the computer that you will be using.
- Download the plug-in Workspace app 2002 for Windows - Citrix, external link.
For another OS, go to Citrix Workspace app download page, external link.
- Click Run
- Click Start.
- Select the I accept the license agreement checkbox, then click Install.
- You may opt to include "App Protection" (recommended), then click Install.
- Select Add Account.
- Enter the Ryerson vApps address: https://vapps.ryerson.ca. Then click Add.
Note: Do not enter your email, this will not allow you to connect to Ryerson’s servers.
- Enter your my.ryerson credentials, then click Sign In.
- Note: Make sure you have multi-factor authentication (MFA) set up for your account and can log into portal.office.com,, external link before attempting to login to vApps.
On the MS authentication app, enter the one-time password code associated with your Office 365 account.
Or if the push notification appears, tap approve.
- Once you log-in, you will be taken to the vApps landing page. By default, no applications will appear within your favorites tab. To add to your favorites, refer to, Working with vApps.
The programs on Virtual Applications (VApps) are the Microsoft Windows version of the software. Some shortcuts and/or command key combinations may not work on other operating systems. Use the mouse as an alternative to access these functions.
Mozilla Firefox is the recommended Internet browser for vApps on Mac OSX.
To use Ryerson’s Virtual Applications (vApps), the Citrix Workspace software must be installed on the computer that you will be using.

- Open the CitrixWorkspaceApp.dmg from your downloads folder.
- Double-click the Install Citrix Workspace icon.
If this you receive this pop-up, click Continue.
- On the Introduction page, click Continue.
- On the License page, click Continue.
- Click Agree to accept the terms of the License Agreement.
- If this you see this pop-up, enter your Mac login to allow the installation to continue.
- On the Installation Type page, click Install.
- When prompted, check ‘Add Account’, then click Continue.
- Enter Ryerson vApps address: https://vapps.ryerson.ca, then click Add.

- When prompted, enter my.ryerson credentials, then click sign in. Use your MS authenticator to approve the sign-in by either entering your one-time password or tapping allow on the notification.
- Once you log-on, you will be taken to the landing page. By default, no applications will appear within your favorites tab. To add to your favorites, refer to: Working with vApps - Adding to Your Favorites.
Depending on your computer's security settings you may see an alert upon starting Virtual Applications. The alert should look like this:
If you attempt to access your local drive from within the app, you might get another Security Warning alert:
If later, you need to change the choice you selected above, you can always go to Citrix Receiver Preferences as shown:
