Migrants in a new host country face many barriers and challenges as they strive to enter the labour market. A new app WORKEEN (external link, opens in new window)  uses gaming technology to convey the practical guidance and information that migrants need to secure employment.

The WORKEEN gaming app was developed as part of the SIRIUS Project (external link)  to help users – particularly, migrants, asylum seekers and refugees – increase their chances of successful integration. Through the interactive game experience, users can search for a job, prepare for an interview and learn what soft-skills they need to succeed in the job, itself.

CERC Migration and the University of Parma co-hosted a panel of the creators of the WORKEEN app, who discussed how a technology application can help improve the integration experience for migrants, and were also joined by representatives from immigrant-serving organizations, who provided an assessment from the immigrant perspective.
