The BSc in Chemistry shares a common first year with the BSc programs in Biology, Contemporary Science, Mathematics and its Applications, and Medical Physics. Ryerson's Chemistry program offers a flexible curriculum that enables students to chart their own academic paths. Students can customize their degrees further with a minor in Biology, or a specialization in Applied Physics or Management Science.
The program is strongly applications-oriented. Lab hours account for a significant amount of learning time in every semester, supported by a solid grounding in the theory and principles of chemical science.
Chemistry co-op students find work in a variety of roles such as product development, quality control, and laboratory analytical services, in settings such as pharmaceutical companies, research laboratories, cosmetics and food industries.
For questions about the job application process, co-op fees, potential employers, typical co-op employment rates etc. please contact the Co-op Program Specialist.
