Anna Flaminio

Dr. Anna Flaminio

Dr. Anna Corrigal Flaminio is Metis from St. Louis, Saskatchewan.  Anna has worked with Indigenous peoples and organizations in the areas of justice and healing for over 25 years. She attained a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina, a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia, a Masters of Laws from the University of Saskatchewan, and Doctorate of Juridical Science from the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on Indigenous laws (Metis, Cree, Anishinaabe) and Gladue principles, and their applicability to Indigenous peoples involved with Canadian youth and family law issues. Her research has been supported by the June Callwood Fellowship of Aboriginal Law, the Chancellor Jackman Fellowship in the Humanities, and the Centre for International Governance Innovation.

Prior to joining Ryerson’s Criminology department, Anna worked on a CIHR-funded Metis women’s wellness research project as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Faculté Saint Jean, University of Alberta.
