Carlos Sabillon

IESO Research Fellow

Dr. Carlos Sabillon is an IESO Research Fellow at the Centre for Urban Energy (CUE). He received PhD and master's degrees in power system optimization from the São Paulo State University in Brazil and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the National Autonomous University of Honduras.

Since joining CUE in 2018, Carlos has worked in projects for the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) analyzing the economic opportunity that renewable energy sources, electric vehicles, energy storage and intelligent loads can bring to distribution systems.

Carlos has authored or co-authored more than 20 research articles and industrial reports. He specializes in electric power systems with interests in the development of methodologies for the optimization, planning and control of transmission and distribution systems.
