Global Changemakers Engineering Competition

A group of three high-school students participating in an engineering workshop

The Global Changemakers Engineering Competition at Toronto Metropolitan University welcomes highly motivated and talented female and Indigenous Grade 7-10 students to discover engineering at the university level. This program is funded through a generous gift from Rodney Yip and Motorola Solutions (external link) . This intensive two-day program provides exposure to global engineering work and how it's addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (external link) .

Throughout two events, female and Indigenous students respectfully, will participate in a series of workshops and hands-on activities that foster problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. These events will allow students to explore life as an engineer, focusing on the global and societal implications of the profession. Students will also have the opportunity to meet industry representatives, engineering mentors, and other students from across the GTA, building a network of like-minded peers in STEM.
