A Message from the Vice-Provost, Faculty Affairs

Dear colleagues,

As the end of the term nears, I would like to thank you for your hard work and dedication throughout the fall 2021 semester. While you faced many unanticipated challenges, you persevered and your commitments to students, one another and the university have not gone unnoticed.

As you know, we will start the winter term virtually with a return to in-person instruction on Monday, January 31. While this is a change from our original plans, we appreciate your understanding and flexibility. I look forward to when we will return to campus in the winter semester, and I am excited to finally meet you all and experience the vibrancy of our university.

Please know that the OVPFA is here to support you with the transition to in-person activities when the time comes. On Wednesday, January 19 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., the Office of the General Counsel will meet with Chairs and Directors to discuss the policies and protocols related to COVID-19 and to answer any questions that you may have in relation to supporting colleagues in the return to campus. All Chairs and Directors would have received an invitation to this meeting, please reach out to vpfa@torontomu.ca if you need it to be re-sent.

Lastly, we will be offering more exciting learning and development opportunities in the winter term. Please stay tuned for more information.

Thank you all for your dedication to your students and colleagues, and for your continued commitment to the wellbeing of the Ryerson community. I wish you and yours a restful holiday break, and a 2022 filled with much health, happiness and peace.

Roberta Iannacito-Provenzano, PhD

A Review of Common COVID-19 Questions from Faculty and Contract Lecturers

From the Vice-Provost, Faculty Affairs

As Ryerson prepares for increased activity on campus as of Monday, January 31, 2022, I understand that you may be feeling anxious about this return to in-person learning and teaching, and have many valid queries about how the university is prioritizing everyone’s health and safety.

With this in mind, I would like to take the opportunity to answer some of the most frequently asked questions that faculty members and contract lecturers have submitted to the administration. Please find them on the Faculty Affairs website here.

I would also like to highlight for you the pages dedicated to Faculty and Contract Lecturers on Ryerson’s COVID-19 website. Here you will find information regarding winter 2022 and we will continue to update the content as new information becomes available.

Thank you!
